Grounded Growth Founder Sara Harper Shares An Outcome-Based Approach for Regenerative Agriculture on The Modern Acre Podcast

2019-12-04T11:23:40-05:00December 4th, 2019|

How do you REALLY build trust with consumers who are bombarded with different marketing and certification claims about products that are supposedly healthier for people and the planet?  How can brands and farmers BOTH win from bringing regenerative agriculture to market — so that it actually does deliver some of the world-saving claims being made in its name?

Our view is that the answer to these challenges is to define and measure regenerative agriculture by its outcomes, not a checklist of practices that can mislead consumers.

This week, Grounded Growth’s founder, Sara Harper was able to share this perspective — and new opportunities we will be pursuing in 2020 […]

But don’t take our word for it — check out where regenerative agriculture ranks in the Whole Foods market predictions for 2020 . . . I think those guys are pretty good at spotting trends, but I could be wrong 🙂

Whole Foods Market’s top 10 food trend predictions for 2020:

Big Win for a Small Brand Shows the Way Forward for the Regenerative Economy

2019-10-17T12:26:25-04:00October 17th, 2019|

HUGE Congratulations to one of our Grounded Growth brand partners — Around the World Gourmet! Because of their support for regenerative agriculture, they earned a chance and ultimately were successful in adding an important new customer: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Competition is fierce in the food industry.  Often, small food manufacturers don’t get a chance to even get their product sampled by big institutions and grocery stores.  So, the fact that St. Jude gave them this opportunity BECAUSE of their support for regenerative — and the direction they are pursuing to bring regenerative products to market is a BIG DEAL for proving to […]

3 Projects Bringing Regenerative Agriculture to Market

2019-09-27T12:16:13-04:00September 27th, 2019|

We’ve been steadily assembling the relationships, tools and people to build regenerative supply chains.  Building a new, value-added market is not easy — it requires a lot of trust-building and change management.  This is why we can’t share the details of much of what we work on in our members-only platform.

But we now have 3 projects that are far enough along that we can provide an overview to folks that might be interested in joining us.  These three projects put on display our vision, strategy and process for building a regenerative food system.

We will share an overview of our projects at our meeting this Monday in Oakland, CA co-located with the […]

Finding the Link Between Healthier Soil & Healthier Food — Nutrient Density Testing

2019-09-19T08:48:55-04:00September 19th, 2019|

What if you could buy food that contains more of the nutrients our bodies need to be healthy?

Turns out, we could. If ingredient makers choose to partner with regenerative farmers who conduct nutrient density testing of their crops . . . like, oh, members of Grounded Growth!?!!

In this week’s RegenerativeMinute, Grounded Growth member Dr. Jill Clapperton shares one example from this promising area of study showing how regenerative agriculture can create more nutrient dense food.

What is Nutrient Density Testing?

Nutrient density testing is one way to quantify the nutritional benefits that result from the choices farmers make about how to grow their crops.

Grounded Growth is very focused on this promising area of inquiry […]

Fear the Status Quo, Not the Risks of Change

2019-09-18T12:18:02-04:00September 18th, 2019|

By Sara Harper, Founder of Grounded Growth, LLC

I’ve never been a patient person . . . and yet, patience is most certainly required when you are trying to build a new market . . . a new way of doing things.

People have so much fear of change.  They fear it for good reasons.  Disruption means risk . . . it means there is a chance that a decision you make could hurt your team, your company . . . and of course, your family.  We are hard-wired to minimize risk for good reasons.

I know this.  I’ve lived it.  And yet, I forget that it is fear holding people […]

So, when they included us in a list of 10 amazing organizations moving regenerative agriculture forward . . . it was quite a day!  Of course, […]
